Scott Terry practices in the area of commercial litigation, focusing on business and real estate disputes. Mr. Terry commonly handles business tort claims, including partner and shareholder liability claims, tortious interference with contract claims, and unfair trade practice claims; shareholder disputes, and real estate matters. Regularly appearing in federal and state courts, he has successfully litigated cases through jury trial and appeal.
In addition to business and real estate litigation, Mr. Terry also represents individuals and entities in the defense of False Claims Act claims. As part of this practice, he has defended individuals and entities alleged to have engaged in health care and other fraud against the United States. Mr. Terry also represents attorneys, insurance agents, real estate agents, real estate appraisers, property surveyors, and other professionals in professional liability claims.
Prior to joining Phelps Dunbar, Mr. Terry served as an intern for the Hon. Elizabeth A. Jenkins, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
