Phelps Dunbar's public finance practice serves the needs of our clients through the range of talent offered by our lawyers across a number of offices.

Our attorneys have represented clients in a variety of bond financings involving state and local governments, hospital authorities, school and college districts and both closely held and publicly traded corporations. They have handled a broad spectrum of financial transactions and have acted as bond counsel, issuer's counsel, underwriter's counsel and trustee's counsel for issues of both taxable and tax-exempt general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, refunding bonds and industrial development bonds (IDBs). Attorneys in this practice represent clients in all phases of public finance transactions including preparation of official statements, notices, and other disclosure documents, obtaining credit enhancement, bond insurance and bond ratings, validations, verification of bids and preparation of all other financings documents.
