Phelps Dunbar Counsel Awarded Propeller Club Member of the Year

Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that Timothy P. Shusta, counsel in the regional admiralty and tort litigation group and resident in the Tampa office, has recently been awarded Propeller Club Member of the Year. The award was presented at the Tampa Propeller Club 49th Annual Phosphate Celebration and Awards Dinner, which was held on February 28.

The Propeller Club is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement and well-being of all interests of the maritime community on a national and international basis. The goal of the Propeller Club is to educate legislators, as well as the public, as to the importance and necessity of waterborne commerce. The Propeller Club aggressively promotes the maritime industry by partnering with other similar organizations and also through many of its educational programs.

Mr. Shusta practices in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, insurance, business and finance, environmental law, and tort litigation. Mr. Shusta received his B.A. from the University of Maine in 1974 and his J.D. from Stetson University in 1984. Mr. Shusta is also a member of the Maritime Law Association (Cruise Line Committee), the Tampa Bay Cargo Association (Treasurer), and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute. He also serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Port of Tampa Maritime Industries Association.
