Phelps Dunbar LLP Participates in the "Read a Book" Program

Phelps Dunbar LLP recently participated in the "Read a Book" program, part of the National Read Across America campaign, February 16 -27, 2004. Partners, Associates and staff collected over 200 new and used children’s books, which were distributed to the Emma B. Broman Liberty House.

The National Read Across America campaign was started in 1998 by the National Education Association as a way to entice children to become more excited about reading. The "Read a Book" program supports the mission of the National Read Across American campaign by encouraging early childhood literacy and by providing books to many underprivileged children that are unable to purchase them on their own.

Liberty House is a transitional housing facility designed to meet the needs of homeless young pregnant and/or parenting women ages 18 up to 21 years old and their children.

Phelps Dunbar is a regional law firm of over 230 attorneys, with offices in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Jackson, Tupelo, and Gulfport, Mississippi; Houston, Texas; Tampa, Florida; and London, England.
