Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that Dennis M. McClelland, partner in the regional employment practice group and resident in the Tampa office, recently received the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s (HCBA) 2005 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. The award was presented at the HCBA’s Installation of Officers reception, which was held on June 28, 2005 at the Tampa Club.
The Young Lawyers Division of the HCBA selects the recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. The award recognizes a young lawyer who is well-respected by his or her peers and who has made significant contributions to the Young Lawyers Division and to the legal profession.
Mr. McClelland practices in the firm’s litigation section and is a Board Certified specialist in labor and employment law. He received his B.S. in Political Science from Florida State University in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Florida in 1996. Mr. McClelland is an active member of the HCBA, where he served as President of the Young Lawyers Division and on the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2004. He is also a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
