New Partners at Phelps Dunbar LLP

Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has elected five attorneys to the partnership effective January 1, 2004.

Joseph Lee Adams is a partner in the labor and employment practice group in the firm’s Jackson office. He practices in the areas of Civil Rights and Title VII, as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act and has extensive experience in litigating Wage and Hour Collective Actions. Mr. Adams received his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1997, where he was the associate editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. He received his B.B.A. from Mississippi State University in 1994. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi.

Michael H. Ashy is a partner in the Tampa office. He practices in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance defense litigation. Mr. Ashy received both his law degree and Masters in International Business from the University of San Diego in 1995. He received his B.S. in Multinational Business Operations and Philosophy from Florida State University in 1990. Mr. Ashy is admitted to practice in Florida.

Debra M. Brown is a partner in the general litigation practice group in the firm’s Jackson office. She practices in the areas of commercial litigation and construction. Ms. Brown received her law degree from University of Mississippi in 1997, where she was the associate editor and articles editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. She received a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1987. Ms. Brown is admitted to practice in Mississippi.

Patricia Hair is a partner in the commercial litigation practice group in the Houston office. She practices in the areas of commercial litigation, including disputes involving commercial and residential construction, real property development, oil and gas interests, employment, partnerships, contracts, leases, trade secrets and indemnity provisions. She received her law degree from Tulane University in 1973 and her B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1970. Ms. Hair is admitted to practice in Texas.

Kelsey B. Kornick is a partner in the litigation practice group in the firm’s Baton Rouge office. She practices in the areas of commercial and insurance litigation. Ms. Kornick received her law degree from Louisiana State University in 1997, where she served as the president of the Student Bar Association. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 1994. Ms. Kornick is admitted to practice in Louisiana.
