New Partners at Phelps Dunbar LLP
Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has elected two attorneys
to the partnership effective January 1, 2003.
Douglas C. Noble is a partner in the business practice group in the firm's
Jackson office. He practices in the area of bankruptcy and creditors' rights,
business and finance, and commercial litigation. Mr. Noble received his law
degree from the University of Mississippi in 1996, where he was a member of
the Mississippi Law Journal. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Mississippi
in 1993. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Tennessee.
James W. Shelson is a partner in the general litigation practice group
in the firm's Jackson office. He handles a variety of civil litigation in the
state and federal courts of Mississippi and Alabama, including lender liability,
consumer finance, insurance bad faith claims, products liability, and tort cases.
Mr. Shelson received his law degree from Dickinson University in 1993, where
he was a member of the Dickinson Law Review. He received a B.A. in Political
Science from Michigan State University in 1984. He is admitted to practice in
Mississippi and Alabama.
