Phelps Dunbar Partner Selected as General Counsel of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys

Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that Dan M. McDaniel, Jr., a partner in the business group of the Jackson office has recently been selected as General Counsel for the International Association of Gaming Attorneys "IAGA."

The announcement of the appointment was made at the annual IAGA convention, which took place in San Diego on September 12, 2002. Mr. McDaniel will become the President of the IAGA in 2006 and will be the first attorney to hold the position from the southern United States.

Mr. McDaniel practices in the areas of gaming licensing and law, administrative law, and professional licensing regulations. He represents clients in both domestic and international jurisdictions involving all aspects of the gaming industry, including licensing, registration, and findings of suitability of casinos for manufacturers and distributors in both domestic and international jurisdictions.

Mr. McDaniel previously served as the Chairman of the Gaming section of The Mississippi Bar and as the American Bar Association representative for the IAGA in 2000.

The IAGA is a Nevada non-profit professional corporation dedicated to the development of gaming law and the education of its members. Approximately 500 gaming lawyers are members world-wide. Its sister organization, the International Association of Gaming Regulators, consists of most of the regulators in the United States, western Europe and Australia.
