Phelps Dunbar Partner Named Chancellor of Southern University Law Center
Phelps Dunbar is pleased to announce that Freddie Pitcher, Jr., a partner
in the Baton Rouge Litigation practice group, has been elected to serve as the
new chancellor of Southern University Law Center. Mr. Pitcher was one of six
candidates vying for the position, which has been vacant since September 2001.
He will occupy the position in January 2003.
Mr. Pitcher received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Southern University
and has served as an Adjunct Professor since 1983. He has been a member of the
firm for five years and has handled matters involving commercial litigation,
insurance coverage litigation, employment law and casualty litigation.
