North Carolina Super Lawyers Recognizes 3 Phelps Dunbar Attorneys

RALEIGH – Kevin O’Brien, managing partner of Phelps Dunbar’s Raleigh office, has been named a 2017 North Carolina Super Lawyer, while associates Nathan A. Huff and Robert M. Kennedy, Jr., have been named 2017 Rising Stars by North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine.

Mr. O’Brien practices in the area of insurance and reinsurance with a focus on complex insurance coverage, litigation and counseling, along with some insurance defense litigation. In the insurance coverage practice area, he handles complex first- and third-party coverage matters in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Huff practices in the areas of litigation and insurance, concentrating on complex insurance matters. As a former federal prosecutor, he also focuses his practice on white collar defense and governmental investigations.

Mr. Kennedy, also an associate, practices in the areas of insurance and reinsurance as well as labor and employment.

Super Lawyers honors the top 5 percent of attorneys in a state or geographic area who have been voted on by the legal community as well as vetted through independent research for professional achievement, excellence in the practice of law and a high degree of peer recognition.
