Phelps Dunbar Attorney Recognized as Business Woman of the YearAugust 18, 2008Phelps Dunbar attorney Kamilah L. Perry was recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as a 2008 Business Woman of the Year finalist at a black-tie gala on August 15 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. The award honors successful businesswomen in the Bay Area in a variety of categories, including information technology, manufacturing, business services, government, media, nonprofit and financial services. Ms. Perry was recognized in the "young" category. Ms. Perry is an associate in the firm's regional insurance and reinsurance group in the Tampa office. Her experience includes commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution, general business torts, insurance litigation, products liability, white collar criminal defense and public utility matters. Ms. Perry is involved in several professional organizations, such as The Florida Bar, the National Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. In addition, she has been elected as the 2008-2009 President of the George Edgecomb Bar Association, Tampa's largest predominately African-American voluntary bar association.
