Phelps Dunbar Attorney Elected President of the Port of Tampa Maritime Industries AssociationJuly 21, 2008Phelps Dunbar attorney Timothy P. Shusta was recently elected president of the Port of Tampa Maritime Industries Association (PTMIA). On July 14, PTMIA announced their new directors and officers for the 2008-2009 year, where Mr. Shusta was also named to the PTMIA Board of Directors. Mr. Shusta is counsel in the firm's regional commercial litigation group in the Tampa office. He practices primarily in admiralty and maritime law, insurance, business and finance, environmental law and tort litigation. Mr. Shusta is an active member of numerous professional and community organizations around Tampa and throughout Florida, where he also serves as an officer for many of the organizations. PTMIA was founded by businesses in the Port of Tampa in June 2003 to promote the commercial interests of the Port of Tampa. The PTMIA is comprised of 63 maritime businesses in the Port of Tampa. Association members collectively employ approximately 4,000 people in the port, with annual revenues of $1.25 billion.
