August 18, 2015

Tuesday, August 18, 2015 to Tuesday, August 18, 2015

The Gulf Coast Power Association is holding a special briefing to discuss Gulf Coast weather disaster readiness, examining it from three time periods - past, present and future - from two perspectives - power and industry. Jim Stuckey, a partner in the firm's New Orleans office, will participant on a panel about operations and financial lessons learned from Katrina and other weather disasters. Topics on the agenda include:

  • What has changed since Katrina?
  • Have electric power systems "hardened" their infrastructure?
  • How are generation and wires different today than prior to the storm?
  • How were repairs to storm damages financed?
  • How were consumer rates affected by disaster cleanup and disaster preparation?
