The success of a business depends on the quality of its talent. New Orleans is rich with culture and opportunity, but the amount of talented labor has not always kept pace with the city's growing entrepreneurial climate. To launch new businesses and supplement local labor sources, entrepreneurs often rely on foreign talent. However, business- and employment-based immigration will change significantly in the next four years and accessing foreign talent will likely prove challenging.
In this workshop, participants will take a practical, in-depth look at how entrepreneurs and innovators can recruit and retain foreign talent to work in various industries, such as technology, engineering, education, entertainment, and healthcare. A discussion will provide tactical business strategies that foreign entrepreneurs may use to launch U.S. offices and that entrepreneurs and innovators may use to secure foreign labor talent in a rapidly-changing regulatory environment.
