Phelps Dunbar Partner Named a Female Mentor of the Year

Phelps Dunbar partner Karleen J. Green was recently recognized as a finalist for the Postlethwaite & Netterville Female Mentor of the Year Award. The award honors women who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to mentor other women. Ms. Green was selected because of her numerous leadership roles, as well as her passion for educating children and young adults. The award was given on October 21 at this year's Postlethwaite & Netterville Women's Networking Event, which is designed to provide an opportunity for female professionals in the Baton Rouge area to meet, network and socialize.

Ms. Green is a partner in the employment law group in the Baton Rouge office. Her practice consists of employment and employee benefits matters, litigation and consultation regarding all aspects of employment law and ERISA. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association [Young Lawyers Section Council (Chair, 2007-2008)]; Louisiana Bar Foundation Board of Directors; Federal Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section, Chair of the Special Committee on Employee Benefits); American Bar Association (Taxation and Labor and Employment Law Sections and Employee Benefits Committee); Baton Rouge Bar Association (Holiday Star Committee); and Junior League of Baton Rouge (Legal Advisor).
