The Baton Rouge office was the first regional office of Phelps Dunbar, opening in 1984 with three attorneys. Today, it has become one of the largest law offices in the state capital with more than 50 attorneys.
The office provides the firm’s clients comprehensive expertise in business and casualty litigation at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts, as well as a vibrant practice in business and lending transactions and employment law. Within those broad areas of expertise, Baton Rouge attorneys offer specialized services in construction law, insurance regulatory matters, public utilities law, lobbying, administrative and regulatory matters, environmental regulatory and counseling matters, and intellectual property issues.
Phelps Dunbar’s Baton Rouge office has committed to supporting numerous well-deserving causes over the years. Our attorneys serve on various charitable, professional, civic and philanthropic boards of directors, which have driven the firm’s efforts to contribute to community activities. This includes Community Fund for the Arts, Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge and Capital Area CASA Association.
Each year we participate in an office-wide pledge to support the Capital Area United Way campaign. Our attorneys also volunteer to serve every month at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall feeding the homeless and needy in the Baton Rouge community.
