Practice

Harvey is a partner in the firm's regional business practice group in the Tampa office. He practices in the area of intellectual property litigation, focusing primarily upon patent litigation. His patent litigation experience covers a variety of technologies, including semiconductor processing equipment, davit lifts, pressing apparatus, airboat transmissions, gaming devices, refrigeration apparatus, a method for recycling construction debris, urine analysis formulations, drinking cups, ceiling fans, medical sampling devices, disposable blood measuring devices, a method of delivering coupons, sleds for exchanging nuclear control rods, jewelry display cases, scanning devices, suture anchors, fence post systems and tidal gate systems.
 
Harvey has had several patent infringement jury trials and has litigated intellectual property matters throughout the country, including Florida, New York, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, Indiana and California. He has successfully argued before the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and has prepared several appeal briefs before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition to his intellectual property litigation experience, Harvey is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He focuses his patent prosecution practice on semiconductor equipment, semiconductor processing, electronic materials, alloys, composites, synthetics, energy systems, micro-electro-mechanical-systems, medical devices and chemical formulations.
 
Prior to entering private practice, Harvey had significant experience as an engineer in the semiconductor industry. He also has previous career experience teaching chemistry and physics.
