Amanda W. Messa

Amanda Messa focuses her practice on all areas of construction litigation with an emphasis on complex commercial construction disputes. She regularly represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in a variety of construction-related disputes on both public and private projects across the state of Louisiana. Additionally, she has a significant amount of experience with lien-related matters arising under Louisiana’s Private Works Act and Public Works Act. In addition to her litigation experience, Amanda has experience negotiating and preparing contract documents for construction clients. Amanda also regularly practices before the American Arbitration Association in connection with her construction practice.

While Amanda’s practice is primarily focused on construction matters, she has successfully prosecuted and defended matters on behalf of clients in a wide variety of areas including real estate and property disputes, breach of contract claims, business disputes, foreclosures and collection matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Amanda was an associate in the litigation section of a well-established law firm in Shreveport, LA.

  • Representation of multiple subcontractors in contract negotiations with general contractor on large casino construction and renovation projects in Florida
  • Representation of general contractor in payment dispute with subcontractor on large shopping center project
  • Representation of a property owner and developer in complex partition proceeding involving numerous co-owners
  • Representation of multiple subcontractors in their pursuit of amounts owed for work performed and materials supplied on casino project in Lake Charles, LA
  • Representation of a property owner and developer in injunction proceeding to remove private works constructed in statutorily dedicated right-of-way
  • Representation of a subdivision developer in connection with redhibition claims filed by purchaser
  • Representation of a homeowner’s association in lien and collection matters
  • Representation of various owners/lessors in eviction and tenant disputes
