ACC Louisiana Chapter and Phelps Dunbar Present a CLE Program: "Best Practices in Using and Securing Modern Technology in Your Legal Practice and in Litigation as In-House Counsel"

The Association of Corporate Counsel Louisiana Chapter and Phelps Dunbar will present a program on “Best Practices in Using and Securing Modern Technology in Your Legal Practice and in Litigation as In-House Counsel." Part I will be presented by Phelps Dunbar partner, Nan Alessandra, and CEO of Avansic, Gavin Maines. Their presentation will focus on issues such as the use of the “cloud” for law firm data, information security concerns with client data on mobile devices, information sent using drop boxes, the need for/issues with encryption (particularly for any attorneys that handle Personal Health Information), making sure technology is helping control and protect client information, and some of the issues that have arisen with the use of social media by attorneys and judges such as LinkedIn and Twitter as examples and anything else related to technology and legal business practices. Part II will be a panel discussion composed of panelists such as in-house counsel, the electronic forensics speaker from first presentation, and judges addressing e-discovery and related issues on managing electronic data, etc., with an emphasis on best practices in this context. $10 members / $40 non members Please RSVP to Sophia Ryan at Sophia.ryan@spr.doe.gov by October 4.
